Got called in at 6 this afternoon to necropsy a cow, and didn't get done 'till about 8:30. The cow had laryngitis, but that was not really her biggest problem. Necropsy here begins each day at 1pm with general rounds, where the senior pathologist and resident on duty discuss the work up of the cases from the previous day and the histories of the cases for that day with the 4th year vet students. This is another one of those necropsy wtfs that I just have to share; it was awhile ago, but now I have the pictures. Only don't look if you're fond of crazins and have a weak stomach.

I'm on necropsy duty this week, and yesterday we had a 1 month old wether lamb (that's a castrated male) come in for 'sudden death'. He just dropped over. This was a bit alarming to the owner, because that can happen with some diseases that might affect the rest of the flock. Turns out not so much...
